1. Will this be a blocky style of game or more realistic (similar to Mordhau)?
Our plan is to shift to realistic graphics as soon as possible. The initial tech demo was made with simplified graphics to speed up rapid prototyping and avoid pitfalls of art over mechanics – we want the game to be fun first and work on making it gorgeous along the way.
2. What does the development timeline look like?
We are hoping to have a first playable by this Summer, including mechanics, networking, and placeholder realistic art that will match the style we are going for. After that, we will create a more defined roadmap with all features and milestones.
3. Will it be multiplayer?
Yes, absolutely! We believe the cornerstone of Mordhau's appeal has been it's community and it just wouldn't be the same without collaborative play. Thankfully, our lead developer, Tony (Frost), has ample experience with Unity Netcode, we are just leaving plenty of time to work out the kinks that come with networked play.
4. What will make this game stand out?
Our commitment to seeing it through. As a group experienced with indie development, we know this is a marathon and not a sprint. And that doesn't end when the game ships.
Just like we have stuck with Mordhau all of these years, we want to create an experience that is built from the ground-up: developers who are an active part in the community, who put out frequent, meaningful updates, and continue to pivot on new ideas and respond to feedback and suggestions from the players.
That means not only supporting the game through development, but also playing alongside the community to stay in touch with the state of the game. We want to make a game that we want to play as much as you do and it's our hope that we will achieve that, together.
Ultimately, you guys are what makes the game great and we hope that you will join us to continue that experience into the modern gaming era!
